Asian markets end flat; Hang Seng up 1%

The Asian markets ended on a mixed note. The Hang Seng advanced 218 points or 1% to 21,678. The Nikkei declined 91 points or 1% to 10,764. The Taiwan Weighted index has shed 18 points at 8,319 and the Straits Times is down three points at 2,908. The Seoul Composite index is up two points to 1,714 and the Shanghai Composite has added 15 points to 3,252.
