Textile manufacturer Mafatlal Industries today said Bombay High Court has dismissed a writ petition filed by an non-government organisation (NGO) against the de-reservation of its mill land by the government.

The land under contension was earlier earmarked for expanion of zoo under the development plan. The Maharashtra government de-reserved 50 per cent of land are and continued reservation on the balance 50 per cent area. Subsequently, the NGO filed a public interest litigation in the Mumbai High Court.
The high court dismissed the petition on September 23, the company said. Mafatlal has a lease of about 58,198 square metres of land at Mazgaon in Mumbai.
