India"s gems and jewellery exports lost sheen for the eighth month in a row with exports dropping by a sharp 24 per cent to $1.5 billion in May 2009 over the year ago month mainly on account of slump in demand in its major markets like the US and Europe.

F&O OUTLOOK: Nifty likely to trade above 5,100 this week
The Nifty convincingly closed above the 61.8 per cent retracement levels of 4,940 on short-covering. The V-shape recovery is expected to continue with the Nifty likely to complete 100 per cent retracement this week of its recent fall from 5,181 to 4,538. Options data suggest the index has strong support at 4,900 and is building fresh support at 5,000.

Though the Congress party had allocated Saifuddin Soz a seven-seater helicopter for campaigning in far-flung areas of Jammu & Kashmir, he chose to use road transport. It was only when someone pointed out that the idle chopper was also costing his party a lot that Soz decided to use it to go to Ladakh.
