NHDC provides raw material subsidy and other logistics support to unorganised artisans and weavers in the country, thereby protecting them from the cartels of middlemen and suppliers. The raw material support includes wool, cotton, rayon, yarn, silk, dyes and chemicals. To provide marketing support to artisans and popularise natural fabrics and craft, the corporation regularly organises exhibitions all over the country.
“This year, we are organising 15 exhibitions in India, up from 12 last financial year,” NHDC Managing Director J K Baweja told Business Standard.
